Storyline for 'A Thousand Years of Good Prayers':
A Chinese man travels to America to visit his estranged daughter after her recent divorce. Though his trip starts off as a mission to see his daughter remarry, he sparks to an Iranian woman who, despite their language barrier, captures his heart. | Director Wayne Wang (The Joy Luck Club) returns to his indie roots with this film about an older Chinese man who comes to America to visit the recently divorced daughter he barely knows. Making unwelcome efforts to become closer with his daughter (Faye Yu), Mr. Shi (Henry O) snoops through her belongings and forces her into uncomfortable conversations in an attempt to piece together why her marriage fell apart.
